Bit by bit

Today will be a bit-by-bit update day. I am really sleepy. I don't know why. I got enough sleep!

So far I accomplished the following things:

  • Got up
  • Made us oatmeal for breakfast
  • Made Joe lunch
8:50 AM - I am drinking tea right now. It may take this cup plus one to get the energy to do anything else...

9:27 AM - On my second cup of tea. I've been playing computer games as motivation for being awake. Man, if I actually had to be somewhere, dressed and ready, with people around - I would be so much more motivated. Sigh.

  • Unloaded dishwasher
  • Loaded dishwasher
  • Started dishwasher
See what I did there? I made it look like I did three different things instead of just "did dishes". This makes me feel better.

10:51 AM - Totally caffeinated in a good way now. Hungry for "second breakfast".

  • Posted two response posts
  • Negotiated with my professor to let me re-submit an assignment (yay!)
  • Dried dishes
  • Put away dishes
  • Took medicine
12:31 PM - Still not dressed. No clean bras.

  • Folded clean clothes
  • Put away clean clothes
  • Put wet clothes in dryer
  • Started a new load of laundry
  • Wrote an outline for my paper
  • Ate an English Muffin with cheddar cheese for lunch!
1:25 PM - Third cuppa.
  • Wrote a draft of my paper
2:13 - FINALLY got dressed. No shower today though. Maybe a bath tonight =)
  • Folded one load of clothes
  • Put away one load of clothes
  • Transferred one load of clothes
  • Started another load of clothes
  • Worked out with weights
My brain is kind of getting fuzzy now. I may go ahead and finish my paper tonight, and in the meantime relax and do some cooking and cleaning...well, relax at least! I already have a plan for dinner tonight. I'd like to make cookies too but I'm still feeling pretty tired. Caffeinated but tired...so I could make myself do it. If I wanted to. =)

Thanks for being with me on this journey today girls, and for your encouragement!

A fun day in Moses Lake!

So I definitely don't have an accomplishments to brag about, because all I have done today is sleep in and visit old friends. But it was a super fun awesome day.

Paul and I went to visit my boys. The oldest one would stay with my family from the time he was 1-3 every Sunday - Monday evening, he is so big now! Holy cow, I can't even believe it. The little one was my baby, I would take care of him so his momma could have a break, he was my snuggle boy. Now the little on is 2 and the older one is 8. They are both adopted and share the same birth mother. The pictures above show temper tantrums by Isaac, the younger one, because he definitely likes to get his way. These tantrums last about 15 seconds then he just pops up all happy, it's humorous really. They also like to dance together to Christian rap music, its awesome. :)

Then Paul and I stopped by my friend Annalee's house to drop off some lip gloss she has lent to me for the wedding...and somehow she had never gotten it back. She was 7 months pregnant at my wedding and now has a beautiful 6 week old baby boy who I got to hold! He is amazing. Paul stayed in the car for this visit and when I got back with a smile on my face he felt my forehead and asked if I had baby fever. Haha, yes I do!

My new haircut! My hair is kind of shiny here because it is wet, and it is wet even though I showered an hour ago because I put some gel in it. It'll look nicer soon but I just couldn't wait! See my sink? I did two loads of dishes today (I can't believe we had that many). There's chicken thawing in it right now though.

The exercise video I did today! Pant pant pant!

This doesn't look very relaxing, but it is!

So: We never did catch the one cat, but the rest are coming back from their surgery bit by bit.

We caught a huge cat we hadn't seen before, but our neighbor said it used to be part of our cat's colony. We sent him away to be fixed.

I renewed flood insurance, did a heck of a lot of dishes (three unloads, two complete run throughs). I'm working on laundry. I showered! And worked out, of course. I haven't done any school work today though, I've been busy doing other things.

And Joe just told me not to make dinner tonight! So I guess that means I'll make the chicken tomorrow! And I guess that means we have plans for tonight - how exciting!!!!!

Love you girls!

A blog full of pictures.

In the last two days I have:
  • babysat
  • picked up the house
  • made the bed
  • cleaned the kitchen more times than I can count
  • babysat
  • turned in two job applications in person
  • watched a lot of tv (oops)
  • not gotten enough sleep (hate that)
Now onto the fun stuff. I brought my tripod babysitting today and Kaliah and I have been having a blast. I am able to type this blog post without interruptions because I put her down for a nap! Oh man I love these times. Ok, as I look through these pictures I just want to be a mom so bad. I got Amber to watch 16 and pregnant ( I absolutely love that show embarrassingly) and it just makes us want to have children. But now is not the time, so I will enjoy others people's children. :)
These pictures were taken in Kaliah's backyard. They actually live in a neighborhood with neighbors all around, but right around their house is wetlands, so I was able to make it look like they didn't have people anywhere in sight!

Typical day. She plays and I watch. :)

She loves this hardwood floor and the sound her toys make as she pushes them all around. I love it for different reasons, its beautiful.
I put this picture in because I realized it really showed what my haircut looks like. This is the shortest I have had my hair since 2nd grade and I loooooove it.

Look at my little snuggle bug. She is kinda hard to capture on camera because the 2 second delay and flashing light of using the remote to take the picture is distracting to her. (oh yes this is how I took the pictures: tripod, camera remote, and camera)

Little pumpkin. Gosh I love her, and can't wait to have my own little munchkins to love and take pictures of. My kids will have the most documented lives of all times. Oh and I will be one of those moms like in the blogs I read who call themselves the momarazzi. Haha.

She thought the tripod was a jungle gym...

I would love a kitchen like this someday!
This is how she takes her nap. Bean bag chair, blanket (made by her mom with the cutest fabric-its even cuter on the other side), bottle, pacifier, and she is a goner.

Have a happy Thursday girls!

what a day...!

Hi Girls!  I've actually had a great day, but I'm coming off of a busy weekend and I feel like I've been going non-stop!  If it isn't work and taking care of mundane housewifely things, it's ministry (I think we've had people over 5 out of 7 days this past week).

So my big accomplishment of the day was tackling our bedroom closet.  I went to WalMart and got some closet/under the bed storage containers to get things organized.  I threw out a lot of stuff and got rid of some clothes.  It may not look so amazing, but it is SO much less crammed, and I got our drum set which was sitting out in our bedroom tucked away in there too.

Now...I still have a lot more to do in the bedroom.  When my sister moved out, we kind of quickly shuffled a lot of stuff from one room to the other, and a lot of it got thrown in the bedroom.  I absolutely hate having a messy bedroom.  I want to be able to just relax when I go to bed, and I hardly want to be in our bedroom these days.  So, I'm posting a picture of the three areas left to clean as motivation to get it done.  oh so embarrassing...

Oh and this is a very low quality picture of me ridiculously excited about my new full-length mirror that I finally bought today (for the past 8 months I've had to stand on the couch to look in the mirror over the mantle if I want to see how I look head to toe.  I only noticed that this was a problem last Sunday, when I noticed in the car I was wearing blue tights instead of the black ones I thought I grabbed...)

And here is Shea sometime last week while eating:

I definitely need to post a picture of him in his spiderman costume and of his new hair cut!

Here are some other things I did today:

  • Made lunch for my hubby TWO days in a row
  • Ok this might sound really arrogant, but I had an awesome hair-day (and it was even better because I took a shower and decided to not do anything to my hair but put some mousse and other hair product in it.  I usually straighten it, but I absolutely loved it curly today)
  • did the dishes
  • mailed a package I've been meaning to send out for 2 weeks
  • talked to Amber on my way home from work, which was so much fun!
  • Went thrift store shopping with Shea and found him a really cute rain jacket for only 2 bucks!
Other than having a fairly hectic day at work (but I have the most fun job, so its never that bad) and dealing with a fussy tired baby most of the day, I had a great day!

Thanks for sharing in my day :)

Ahhh.

Hi girls! I am drinking tea and eating nutter butters for lunch (shhh don't tell Joe...besides, I had a bagel with cream cheese an hour ago!)

As of this morning we only have one cat left to catch. It's the gray one. Bah.

I've had a rough week (I can say that now because I feel like it's finally over). Here's what made it rough:

  • Trying to take a human biology course that was way too advanced for basic biology, dropping the course, adding a new course, and scrambling to get caught up in the new course
  • Misunderstandings with my love, mostly caused by me being ridiculously emotional.
  • That time of the month (hmm, I wonder why I was so emotional? haha!)
  • Cat catching (not so bad, but it kind of disrupts my schedule, checking, emptying, rebaiting, and moving traps...and communicating with other people involved
Really, that's all. I guess it's not really that big of a deal, I just let my emotions turn it into a bigger deal than it was. Sometimes it sucks being a girl! But the good thing is that girls have girl friends to encourage them.

I kind of wish I had more to say because I've been working on school all morning, and I deserve a break, and I just want to chat with someone. Good thing Angela's coming over at 3!

Pray for us because Joe is waiting to hear about a job. If he gets it, I'll give you more details! Of course, he already has a permanent, full time job - he's just looking to switch it to a staff position so he can actually know his schedule in advance! Imagine that!

My husband is...so amazing, forgiving, wanting to understand. I take him for granted too often. Of course, I tell him all this...but I wanted to tell you girls too!

Edit: 1:30 PM

becca just called me! It was so encouraging to chat with her, and we get to see her on Friday! I love you becca!

The new hair and the baby.

Apparently the dog was more interesting than me. Haha. But here is my new hair!

And of course a post while babysitting wouldn't be complete without a picture of just the baby. She has been so good today...other than the screaming bloody murder when she woke up and I was the one there instead of her mom. She calmed down the second I changed her poopy diaper and brought her downstairs. She played for 2 full hours by herself and then took a two hour nap! How did I get so lucky. :)
