Last time I blogged I was trying to make the best of a crappy day. I succeeded in having a good day, though it was a choice hour by hour to focus on the positives and not be sad that Paul was working and we weren't together.
I got a delicious Caramel Brulee Latte and watched a great movie cuddled in the bed with the fire on.
Then I decided to get out of the house, head to Costco just to get lunch, Trader Joe's for some much needed happy food, and then my first trip to Home Goods (like Ross but much nicer and it doesn't have clothes) and picked up a few stocking stuffers.
I got this binder free at work and switched over our scrapbook from its old much too small binder to this awesome huge D ring binder, and then of course I decorated it. I love our random scrapbook of movie tickets, maps, invitations, and other random papers and notes. :)
On the day I was determined to make good I also went to H-mart, my favorite cheap Asian grocery store. Can you believe these prices!!
That evening we went to Paul's parents to celebrate his dad's 60th birthday!
Then on Monday Paul and I went to Seattle. This was a last minute trip planned Friday evening as Paul wanted us to get away because our Friday had been stolen from us. We got a Living Social deal (like groupon) and were able to stay in downtown Seattle in a historic hotel, with a $50 credit for meals (covered breakfast and dinner with some good tips) and free valet parking (usually $25 a night) and we paid $119. So for a little more than we usually spend on a hotel we had an awesome mini vacay with lots of perks!
We got fresh donuts and a latte from a little stand at Pike Place. The donuts were heavenly (the maple bacon one was a little odd) but yeah, if I lived closer I would weigh 1000lbs from those mini fresh donuts!
We ate lunch at a little deli at Pike Place and then went to a military shop that had lots of awesome old clothes and bags and such.
The lounge we had credit too was awesome, comfy seats and couches, great service and yummy food! After we consumed way too many calories at dinner we went on a walk to see the city at night, so stinking gorgeous!
On December 9th I switch to day shift, I am pretty stoked. I am also stoked about my new "lipstick" cardigan from Gap outlet. Everything at Gap and Banana Republic outlets was on sale and then I had a 40% and 30% off my entire purchase respectively. I definitely spoiled myself the day I went shopping with those coupons!
Yesterday at work was slow and it was awesome. I did have a patient in a crazy amount of pain, and she was on iv meds that are kept in the pharmacy, so I made plenty of trips up and down the elevator to get them, and took pictures as I was doing so. :) Oh and I made time for a coffee and cheese snack, sounds so good I know. Haha.
Today Paul woke me up at 7:36 (I went to bed after 1am) and asked me if I wanted to go grocery shopping. I groggily agreed and we headed to Safeway and were there by 7:45. It was nice to beat all the traffic and people but man am I tired now! We saved hecka money though! We saved $170 and only spent $75. We got a free turkey too. Talk about awesome deal shopping!
Then this afternoon I have been working on some decorations for Thanksgiving. I am having so much fun!
Oh and the other day I prettied up some candles for stocking stuffers. Sorry Amber, I am spoiling the surprise of this one, but I couldn't help but share how a boring Yankee miniature candle can be transformed into a holiday decoration. Not to mention they smell amazing!
And then last but not least my Christmas inspiration from pinterest (I don't have links because I am a bad girl) but I am so excited to decorate!
Hope you girls are having a wonderful weekend! I hope we can all get together when Candice comes down!
