posting again..on a fun saturday!

Well, finally a lull in the afternoon after a full Saturday!  Jeremy was gone at a quiz meet today (last one!  He's not doing it next year), so I was home with Shea.  My old co-worker, Mia, from Renton came to visit today with her 2 year old, Devin.  Shea and Devin played with toys, danced and sung, and ate chicken nuggets.  It got nice out, so after lunch, we went to the big new park by our house, and the boys had so much fun!
They ran around, pet huge dogs, tried eating tons of rock and bark, and generally weared themselves out!  It was so nice to be outside and be at the park with another adult, too.  Mia had her husband's cousin from Puerto Rico with her.  Even though she didn't speak very much english, she was so great with the kids and immediately started playing and keeping an eye on them.  It was pretty nice, because it gave her something to do, and Mia and I didn't have to worry about the kids as much so we could just talk.

Mia brought me some beautiful tulips from her garden, and I have some pretty branches I brought in on our other table. Love, love, love having some spring in our house!

I finally found some simple brown shoes at the Goodwill this week.  I've been looking for weeks, because I kept wanting brown shoes for certain clothes and I didn't own any.  I love them - they are so comfortable, go with just about anything, and will be super for wearing at the Preschool.  And they only cost me a few bucks!

This week off work has been so fun!  I got some fun sewing for myself done, have the house feeling very clean and organized before going back to work on Monday, and spent so much fun time with my son! I kind of wish I didn't have to go back to work, but the rest of the school year is going to fly by now.  God is so good!  Anyway, Jeremy is still gone.  I need to practice for Worship tomorrow and put together the slideshow.  I think I'm going to go make myself a latte and "sneak" another piece of lemon loaf...:)

Two days without internet.

I am currently at starbucks and downloaded something that just may have fixed my internet at home. I sure hope so. I don't necessarily need the internet, it is kinda nice to find other ways to spend your time, but there are certain things I need to look up, like what the address is to send apartment rent to and things like that. Luckly I have my momma I can call and she will look it up for me. Anyway, here is to hoping this fixes the problem when I go home!

Now for some happyness. My kittens. :) They love to climb, meow, romp around the house, beg for food, cuddle, chase each other, chase their own tails

They also have a weird obsession with the shower doors. We keep the door to the bathroom and the closet closed most of the time, so when they are able to sneak in they are in heaven.

Oh and they love the bathtub. Apparently a bathtub is a great place to wrestle and play chase, and sometimes to sleep in.

They love their scratching post. They climb to the top. Eric has even had all four feet on that small little top and stood there. So cute!

And here are the beggars. Seriously everytime we have a snack or anything in the family room they are laying, sitting, standing with paws on our chest just begging for food.

I got to babysit the little girl I used to nanny on thursday! She is so so precious and so well behaved. She cried for 15 minutes before falling asleep for a 2 hour nap but other than that it was all smiles and giggles and playing and laughing!

She loved to point at the construction workers. We practiced our words. House. Home. Buh Bye, Hi, Dada, Mama, Walk, Bird. :)

I can't wait to have my own little ones. I mean, if I take this many pictures of a girl I nanny just imagine how many I will have of my own? Haha

She doesn't necessarily like to smile for the camera, but take that camera away and she is a smile fest. :)
She was in love with my necklace. It is what cause the crying fit before naptime, I had to take it away. No choking hazards for my little one!

She LOVES playing outside. :)

Short post with many pictures. I work for the next three days in a row, one being today, then I have two days off and work another three. I will probably be tired, but that's ok. As long as my days off are sunshiney all will be well! :) I hope all is well with your girls!!

a quick getaway!

Got back this afternoon from a last minute overnighter to Discovery Bay with my in-laws.  They got a condo up there, and we went swimming with a few cousins, stayed up late, shared a king bed with our son (who manged to take up 3/4 of it somehow), and took a trip to a pretty park in Port Townsend.  Home and feeling so relaxed on this rainy afternoon.  Shea and I are just hanging out in our sweats playing around and resting.

Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

I'm sorry for my absence. I don't have an excuse - I mean, I've been busy with school and whatever, but I certainly also wasted enough time that I could have posted.

Things feel really crazy right now. Crazy good in that I'm almost done with this session of school. I can't believe I did this, but I just totally fudged my assignments based on a 500 page novel. I read the first six pages, read other students' posts, read wikipedia - and then I wrote a post on it, responded to two others, and took a quiz on it - and I only skipped three questions! I'm both ashamed and proud of myself. Ashamed I didn't read the material, but proud I was able to save myself eight hours of reading in such a busy week of packing.

Joe works today and tomorrow and then he's off for TEN DAYS! I'm so excited that he'll be around for the whole packing, moving, and unpacking experience. It'll be more fun to do the craziness together. Yes, we're moving next week/this weekend. We're not sure yet what the big day will be; Joe's been working so much it's been hard to talk about it.

I'm at Forza now, doing my homework like I always used to do. I came in all excited to see the girls, but then I found out that the store is closing on Friday. That's in two days, people. The girls had just found out today. I was so sad. They'll be fine; one has a job lined up and the other is going to be a stay at home mom because, she's married now - wow, things happen fast when I don't show up for a few months! She wasn't even engaged when I saw her last...crazy. And she thinks she might already be pregnant; they're trying. My mind is just blown.

I've had too many carbs (I typed crabs the first time! Haha, I wish) and too much coffee and tea so I'm really jittery and have a lot of tired energy right now. I think I'm done with schoolwork for today; I'm just trying to think of how I'm going to spend the next five hours till Joe gets home. I need to go home and grab the shopping list and then go to Costco; maybe I"ll make myself a healthy dinner and go to the gym later. I definitely do not want to be home alone tonight. Maybe I can time my gym trip so Joe gets home around the same time I do!

It is so nice having flexibility in packing. A little here, a little there; a load here, a load there.

I'm ready to leave Forza now but I'm so sad, knowing I probably won't see these girls again. Three of our regulars that I knew came in today; it was good to say a last goodbye to them. One guy in particular had moved to D.C. a year ago, right about when I stopped working at Forza, and now he only comes back once a month - and my visits are sporadic at best because I don't want to spend crazy money on lattes - so it's cool that we ran into each other. I gave him a hug. He's a grumpy old Russian man and always complains about his drink and I think I'm the only one who's really fond of him.

I want life to stop spinning around me just for a minute. Or maybe I'm the one who's spinning? I don't know. I feel like everything I say is really cryptic because of all the deep literature I've been reading lately. Haha, I'm such a nerd.

That's all for now. Love you!

whirlwind easter sunday!

What a crazy morning we had today!  Shea is sleeping, Jeremy is unwinding from church this morning, and I am sitting wrapped up in a blanket trying to decide if I want to take a nap or not.  We're going to go to Jeremy's Grandparents house in a little bit, but I thought I would write a post while I waste some time!

Yesterday was such a nice day!  My old co-worker was supposed to come out for the day and visit, but she cancelled because she wasn't feel well.  So, we got a lot done around the house, and took Shea to the new playground that just opened by our house.  He had so much fun!  It is such a great playground for him, because it is pretty little kid friendly and there were lots of slides (his favorite thing to do).  Then my family came over for dinner. My brother and his FiancĂ©e was in town, so they were all over until about 8:30.  We stayed up until around about 10:30 or 11PM getting everything ready for church.  I worked for a while on updating all of our announcement slides and things like that.

I even made a cute bow-tie for Shea to wear.  And after today, I want to dress him in a bow-tie all the time.   He was just way too cute.

Then, we got a text at midnight that our Pastor's wife was having her baby and Jeremy had to preach...on Easter!  He had a sermon sort of prepared, but not really.  Poor guy.  He woke up and worked on it, and this morning was crazy getting out the door because we had to bring that much more stuff.  Once we got to church we set up, practiced music, and then had to get everything ready for the breakfast before church.  Except, then we realized that since we were using our old laptop instead of our Pastors that my powerpoint slides were in the wrong format (I have 2007 at home and only 2003 on the laptop, and I didn't convert them or have any way of downloading an online converter).  So i had to retype all of the song slides.  Then Jeremy had to write a sermon, he didn't even get to eat any of the breakfast.  The service was so thrown together.  I didn't really mind, but Jeremy kind of felt a bit frustrated, I think.

Anyway!  It was quite the humbling experience for us!  We felt so prepared and almost looking forward to church today last night, but it all changed this morning when we had so much to suddenly throw together and do!  Oh well, all that matters is that Jesus Lives and we can celebrate that today!  I hope you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday with your families!  My husband is getting a little bored right now, so I'm going to go!

I love Shea's face in this picture. haha.

break is here!

Hi girls!  It's been forever since I've posted.  Today marks the first day of Easter Break though, so I finally feel like I can just sit around in my PJ's for a little bit and relax. Not to mention it's only 6:25AM (I've already been up since about 5...long night and early morning with my little guy) and have the whole day to myself to do whatever I please!

I don't have many pictures to share, but lots has been going on!  Last weekend was my work fundraiser/silent auction.  It was a 50's style soda shoppe theme, so we all dressed in 50's garb for the night.  It was lots of fun - wish I had gotten a picture of my outfit.  I sewed myself a circle skirt with some old fabric and wore it with a cardigan, neck scarf, and tennis shoes.  Cheapest costume ever.

Last Sunday (which seems like it was yesterday, this week has flown by!) was so peaceful and restful.  We just went out for the afternoon and played as a family.  So much fun.

I had an interview this past Monday for a part-time administrative/front desk receptionist at a driving school in the area.  I'm supposed to hear back by the end of today whether I got it or not.  I am pretty hopeful - either they were really nice to me or liked me a lot. It sounds a LOT like my old job, but the management seems a lot nicer than mine.  It's owned by police officers too.  Anyway, after break I have about 6 weeks left until summer break at the preschool, in which case I'll be working a lot during that time.  This job is only Friday/Saturday, but it's still about 15 hours a week.  I'm hoping this will work out so I can quit at the Preschool next year and just work two days a week here in Port Orchard.  We'll see!

Our landlord emailed me this week and said that the listing has expired on the house, and wanted to know if we'd like to sign a lease!  Um, YES PLEASE!  We're waiting to hear back...I told her we wanted to, but I'm a little worried she's going to try and raise the rent, so pray she lets us sign with the same rental terms!

Here are a few things I accomplished this week (other than completely cleaning the house from top to bottom on Wednesday afternoon):

I finally hung up Shea's name letters in his room.  I painted these when I was 8 months pregnant, and just now have hung them up for the first time.  I giggled about the A being almost the same color as the wall.

I also organized our bathroom closet!  I don't have a before picture, but it was bad.  It was just like...stuff stuffed everywhere stuff could stuffin' fit!  I bought those top three blue bins at the dollar store for guess how much, a $1 each (whooa!).  Anyway, we'll see how long this organization lasts.

I also dropped my cell phone in our toilet two nights ago.  Never done that before.  I have never reached my hand into a toilet bowl so quickly.  I haven't tried turning it on again yet...but my SIM card was ok and now I'm using my husbands ghetto super broken annoying phone.

And here is a picture of my sweet boy this morning.  He has been waking up every night at 1:30 and only going back to sleep after sleeping in my bed for about an hour.  I've been tired this week, to say the least.

Amber, I feel like I haven't heard from you in forever!  What is going on with you?  I keep thinking of calling you, but it's always like...when I'm driving to work (and I don't have a headset or speaker phone on my current phone), or Shea is going crazy, or at 5:30 in the morning. haha.

edit: Just heard back about the job.  They filled the position, but the guy told me I did really well and they'll keep my information on file if anything opens up.  I'm not really too disappointed.  I wasn't really ready to give up my Saturdays!

Oh, and our landlord emailed us back.  She wants to raise the rent to at least $1150 (we pay $995), and she thinks thats generous, because they usually rent it for $1350! I'm sorry, but there are much larger and nicer houses in Port Orchard for that amount of money, and we just don't have it right now either way.  Looks like we'll be staying month to month, unless she changes her mind.

I saw it on a blog, I did it, and it worked!

Today has been a crazy productive day.
I got up at 9:30ish and:
  1. vacuumed the house
  2. cleaned three bathrooms
  3. spot cleaned the carpet
  4. fixed the bottom of our bed so the cats can't sneak up into it
  5. planted my basil
  6. sprayed the yard for weeds
  7. hung some clips in the garage to hold things like rakes, shovel, and so forth
  8. did a load of laundry
  9. hung the hose hanger onto the house
  10. ran a load of dishes which I will now unload.
AND I redid our facet in our downstairs bathroom. It was nasty cheap looking gold and with a coat of spray paint (which I already had from spray painting the light fixture) I made it look brand new in just about half an hour! :)

Hope you girls are having a fabulous day!

Kittens. Family. Food. Love.

This post is going to be full of kitten pictures and I apologize in advance. They are just so cute, and small, and not the least bit scared of the camera (since the lady we got them from took pictures with a huge camera of them all the time), and I just can't help it!

The other night (like 5 night's ago- I haven't posted in forever) I made bbq chicken as well as pepperoni homemade hot pockets, so delish! Here they are on the blog: Homemade Pizza Balls.
And here is me getting ready for work, and the lovely presents people at work get me. Last week I was so so blessed. Karrie (the lady that trained me) gave me a box of Godiva truffles and a kiwi (all so delish). And the main doctor at the facility gave me this medical book (he didn't give anything to anyone else), and also Mary (another nurse) got me granola and yogurt from starbucks. People are so so so sweet! :) And then I had to go to a pharmacy meeting and they gave us jelly bellies in the pop packs we get pills in!

Our kittens love to snuggle, a lot. They love to purr and love, and lick and sleep.

I made yakisoba for lunch when I parents were over and helping us paint our whole garage. So yummy!!

Gabe "you don't find boxes that adults can fit in very often!"

Love. Love. Love.

Gabe and I went to costco and target and got matching cardigans and yummy smoothies! Oh and Gabe got a tv!

Painted garage, which is now perfectly organized!

Bistro 663! Gotta love china town!

Amber and I went to the park today while toe boys worked on the bathroom. My hands got a work out on the rings and on this crazy toy there. :)

Amber is going to hate this picture but it is only picture I got of a person from family breakfast day! Hey, at least I didn't post this up on facebook. :)

Kitties helped me clean the office! I seriously spent like 2 or 3 hours in here filing, organizing, shredding, and cleaning. Crazyness!

Kittens love to love each other. Seriously I always have wanted kittens that sleep and cuddle together and they so do!

So not much typing but a whole lot of pictures. I have the next two days off so maybe I will post twice in a week!

Peace out cubscouts
