Paul and I both had monday off and it was absolutely fantastic! We spent the day going to home depot more than once, petco to get some kitty stuff (we should have our kittens in a week or so!), the bank, costco for garden stuff, and um I think some more errands. Then for lunch we went to Pick Quick! So yummy. I think I consumed enough calories in that one meal for the whole day, but its all good. :)
When we came home we put together a shelf in the garage (no picture of it at the moment), cleaned a lot of the garage out, and then did some gardening. I so wish I had a before picture of this strip of dirt (which we are going to completely clear out besides that first super pruned bush but it hasn't stopped raining since monday). It was overgrowing our walkway, I can't tell you what a difference an hour of work did there, yes we spent an hour tearing out bushes and raking up weeks and crap and we still aren't done. And we have the whole backyard to tackle. Rain please stop, I really need to get some more yardwork done.
Later in the evening on Monday we played cribbage and it was fantastic! When Paul and I started dating he taught me how to play cribbage. At first I didn't want to learn, and then once he made me I was obsessed with getting good. So obsessed that we played like 20 games a day when we were together till I got good enough to be some sort of competition to him and then well, I wore him out. We just started playing cribbage again for the first time since we have been married and I love love love it.
Today Paul and I had the day off together again! (so spoiled to have two days in one week, God is good). We went to southcenter to try and find a Maneki Neko (a japanese beckoning cat) and some other asian goodies. We went to goodwill in Tukwilla to try and find side tables, no luck, and costco to get a coffee, they were cleaning their machine, and home depot to get some primer- which was a success. On the trip I ate lots of Starburst jelly beans, and they were so so so good. My favorite. I have been eating WAY too much easter candy lately.
As we were driving around we kept seeing how high the river was, can you believe this? So glad I don't live in an area that can flood. And do you see that weather. Nasty. Makes me feel like being inside and not out and about, but errands with the hubby are always fun! Oh and I got new mascara at Sephora!! (a friend got me hooked on their crazy expensive mascara before my wedding and now I don't want to use anything else. It's Dior Show-waterproof.
On our way home we stopped at the Generals BBQ and got some brisket in their special BBQ sauce. We got it to go, came home and made breadsticks (instead of rolls) and whipped up a salad and had a delicious lunch. Mmm Mmm good.
I know these pictures look disgusting, and I so meant to take more after dinner was all plated in its bows and everything, but well, the hunger took over. We had ziti noodles with pasta and ground Italian flavored turkey mixed in with parmesan as a topper. And of course a breadstick. Super easy, 15 minutes tops, and warm in the tummy. I must say I like ground turkey a lot better than ground hamburger.
Then at 7:30 at night I asked Paul if he wanted to paint some of the garage. I hadn't wanted to start this project earlier, but I was feeling it. So we went out into the garage for an hour, I spackled about a thousand holes, cleaned up spiderwebs and we painted. We had Michael Jackson and Johnny Cash blasting from the ihome. This is just the primer on the walls, these walls are sucking up the paint for sure, but it is going to be so worth it in the end. The garage is going to look so much more clean and bright! (it was Pauls idea I will admit- I fought it at first because I didn't want to do the work when we had so much yard work this summer...but it keeps raining so the indoor painting is a great project!)
After an hour of painting and finishing that one wall we came inside and had rootbeer floats and played some cribbage. Now we lay on the couch together, he plays Hexic (like bejewelled) on the xbox and I mess around the the computer. We cuddle under a blanket but do our own thing. Oh how I love lazy evenings together. It's crazy how some people work 8-5 jobs with the weekends off and have the luxury of evenings together every night...but then I suppose I wouldn't cherish them as much.
Now that was a super long blog post with lots of pictures. Thanks for listening to my ramblings girls!
