Ok, so the sun isn't really shining that bright this morning, its a little overcast out...but that doesn't mean we can't shine! We just enjoyed homemade egg mcmuffins at 7:30AM on this Saturday! Why do kids have to get up at 6:45, even on the weekend? Oh well! I don't have much planned today, other than cleaning up the house, and starting to work on my slipcover for our wingback chair. We'll see how that goes!
Yesterday we got out and enjoyed the sun at Sehmel Homestead Park in Gig Harbor. It was so much fun - they have an awesome playground and Shea ran and went down slides the entire time. I also ran into one of my three year olds and his mom there, so that was fun! Caleb (the boy in my class), was really shy about seeing me and every time he accidentally ran into me would bolt the other way. So funny.
Then we went grocery shopping and stopped by the thrift store, intending to find a travel high chair to leave at my mom's house (no luck, so far). I found some like-new American Eagle jeans that fit perfectly, though! I have been in so much need of jeans lately - they all have rips or are worn out at the knee from Preschool and having a son, so at least I have one pair now in good condition.
Anyway, whether you girls are working, doing housework, schoolwork, or just relaxing with your family, I hope you have a wonderful day!
Update - 11:04 AM
PHEW! I am still in my pajamas, on my third cup of tea, and here is my progress on the slipcover. I would like to just keep on working on it, but Jeremy is gone at an outreach event and Shea is sleeping, so I need to take a shower while he's in bed!
Here is where I was at about an hour ago:
And now, I have one side finished, the back finished, and just have the arm to do on the left side. Much harder work than I thought it would be! And I think i have to live with it being a little wrinkly looking and be OK with the fact that this is my first slipcover, and I'm sure I will be making a new one for this chair at some point in time.
and here I am in my pajamas and bed head (the picture was really orange-y, so I changed the colors...i do not really live in a sepia toned reality).
I didn't realize you lived near Gig Harbor. I love that place! Your slip cover looks really good. I've heard they are hard to make...especially for a wing backed chair. I'm so impressed! I love your positive attitude about the sun shining even though you have to wake up so early. :)
ReplyDeleteHAHA - sepia toned reality!
ReplyDeleteThat slipcover looks awesome. You never fail to amaze me. Thanks for posting progress pictures!
