This week has been a weird one. I pretty much have the day shift job, but I emailed my manager today and she said that she asked HR to offer me the job (sometimes they take forever) and that no one with more seniority than me has applied. So HR needs to get their rear in gear and offer me the job so my mind can be at rest. But I figure if something goes wrong, then it is God's plan and there is a reason. My trust is in the Lord.
I have a strange obsession with library printing. I save up all my printables on pinterest and then go print everything out. This time I didn't have enough "points" to print everything so I went back the next day and used Paul's library card. I still have more I want to print but I need to wait to have more "points" till Sunday. I printed these thankful for things from ashleyannphotography. Such an awesome idea. I also got the idea to turn a coffee sleeve inside out and use it as a decoration from her as well. She is one inspiring momma and she takes the most amazing pictures of her kids and daily life.
Paul and I were both off on Monday so we spent the morning at our favorite coffee shop, then went to the library and then to taco bell for free Doritos tacos! Somebody stole a base in the world series and they were giving out free tacos from 2-6pm. I remember them tasting better the first time but it was fun to get a free one!
Some more printables from the library. I cut out all the little sayings and just used washi tape to attach them to homemade cards made from cutting cardstock in half. My growth group is sending encouraging letters to college students this coming weekend and I am pretty stoked. I would have loved to get a note from my church while I was in college!
I decorated for thanksgiving today! I believe I repinned this banner from Becca on pinterest and was pretty excited to make it. Again I printed everything out on the library, cut out the letters and then put them on brown cardstock and attached them to the twine with mini clothespins. The small fall poster was a printable from pen and paint, I have bought a few things from her etsy shop and love them all!
I went to the pool this morning and when I got there realized I didn't have my towel. It was already 10:30 so I didn't have time to drive home and back to the pool to work out so I decided to scratch it. I came home, decorated the house, made lunch and took about an hour nap. Minutes after I woke up staffing called and put me on mandatory standby for the day. I did the laundry, vacuumed the house, lounged a bit and then went swimming. I really didn't want to be off today but I made the best of it. I would have preferred yesterday or tomorrow as Paul is off both of those days but oh well!
Yesterday at work was a really hard shift so I guess standby was God's way of giving me a break. I sat down only to chart, didn't get a dinner break, and just took one 15 minute break to get some food in my belly because I hadn't eaten in over 8 hours. I was on a different floor and my patients were pretty heavy care, and my patient that would have been easy had very time consuming family members. I had happy patients at the end of the shift though and that is what matters! And that was my Halloween. :) Paul was at home handing out candy to a ton of trick or treaters. He went through 4 bags of reeses!
I'm glad you were able to make most of your day off! your house looks so cute and I love that you are getting so many printables from the library - I am jealous! haha. I thought I would do more printing, sine I started refilling my print cartridge at Costco, and it's like a third of the price...but my color one got all weird when I refilled it. My black one works fine, so maybe it was just the cartridge, but I'm a little scared to try it again.
ReplyDeleteYour starbucks sleeve is cute - its funny, because in a picture you took of your craftroom, a drawer was open and I saw a stack of those in the picture, and I was wondering what you were saving them for! Now I know :)
I have not been into the Fall decorating mood, but maybe I should. I have a few gourds around.
We had Thanksgiving with my family here last year, but I am not doing it again this year. It was too much work for our little place. I think after Shea's party, I am going on a large family party hiatus for a little while. But I am hosting a few smaller events this month, so maybe I will decorate a little now that I see your cute living room. I'm sure you will have a blast hosting your family though! There is something about Holiday get-togethers that makes everything seem so cozy.
