I take a nap and everyone posts!

wow.  I read Angela's post earlier, and I just woke up from my nap 15 minutes ago to find lots of more reading material on the blog!  I guess its my turn to post.

It's been a busy week, and I don't even think I could start to tell you half of what has gone on!  We enjoyed the one sunny day we had this week A LOT.  Shea and I started the day at a playgroup at the park, and after going to my pre-natal appointment later that day, we went to the beach for about 3 hours.  Shea played with his cousins while I sat in the sun with Tawny and another mommy friend who lives close by.  It was a wonderful day, and I was so tiiired that night!  Most of the weekdays I have spent napping during naptime, because I have not been sleeping well at night.  I get contractions every night starting at about 7pm and they last until 2 or 4 in the morning.  Although they don't get any more regular or painful (which is why I go to sleep), I've noticed that each new day they are considerably stronger than the day before.  My midwife told me that I am almost totally effaced (that was on Wednesday) and that baby is so so so very far down, its really just a matter of regular contractions getting going and she thinks labor will go very quickly.

But, baby obeyed and stayed in this weekend (which was very busy!).  The Rotary Auction was this weekend on Bainbridge Island.  CANDICE if you are ever in town on a Saturday before July 4th, you'll have to come, I totally thought of you while I was there!  It's like this crazy huge garage sale, except ONE its on bainbridge island, so there is a ton of awesome stuff, and two, you can get stuff for almost nothing.  We went to the preview on Friday night to see if we wanted to come early and decided we might as well.  They have everything - boats, tents, furniture, appliances, collectibles, big stuff and little stuff.  So we parked on Saturday morning at 7:30 (had to walk about a mile to the entrance), and they opened the doors at 8.  I got a ton of fabric for only $6 and Shea 4 new Thomas brand wooden trains for only $4 (these are normally $10+ a piece!).  Jeremy was excited because he bought 7 new discs for disc golf and got them for only $2 a piece (instead of the normal 10 - 12).  Craziness!  I got some other little things here and there and at the end of the day (ok, actually, it was only like 10:30), they started giving furniture away for half price.  So we got this cute little end table and a little bookshelf for the kids room...it would've come to $7.50, but the guy gave them both to us for $5!  Poor Jeremy had to carry both of them all the way back to the car though...luckily an older gentleman saw us and was parked by us so he offered to carry one of them.

Saturday night, my sister-in-law, Chaussee, and her two boys were at my in-laws, so we went and hung out with them and had dinner.  Their car broke down on Bainbridge Island, so her husband had to ride back with the tow truck to Bonney Lake, and then come all the way back with their other car!  I felt so bad for them.  But at least they were able to spend the night and didn't have to rush back in the morning.  We had the Indianola Fireworks, but Shea was TERRIFIED.  We went down to the beach, someone set off a firework, and he screamed and grabbed on to me so tight and kept saying he was scared and didn't want to see the fireworks.  I have never, ever, EVER seen him so scared before.  We walked back up to the house and took him home.  He didn't even want to look out the window to see them quietly from our house.  Poor kiddo.  I don't really like fireworks that much either though, so I don't mind.  I just feel so bad of how scared he was.  We live on Indian Reservation too, so fireworks are going off all week and every where...there really are no rules about it here.  We were at the park yesterday and he heard a few, so he hid under the picnic table!  He really thinks they are going to hurt him.

Sunday afternoon was Makai's (another nephew) 1st birthday party.  It was short and sweet.  Afterward we went out to starbucks to get some coffee and then went for a walk to the park.  When we came home, we decided to start up netflix again for the month ( we usually end up getting it once every 3 months.  Not really planned, but it is a nice way to monitor how much we watch and our spending).  We had dinner and "movie" night because Jeremy wanted to show Shea "Beast Wars".  Oh yes, so exciting.  He was kind of scared of it though and I don't like how much they say "Shut Up" and "Idiot" when my child is now copying every single word you say, so we won't be watching it again.

Then Jeremy and I watched the Rum Diaries with Johnny Depp.  We were not fans, but watched the whole thing anyway.  Then we went to bed, and I thought for sure the baby was coming!  I was getting the strongest contractions I've had yet and they lasted all night long and were growing stronger as they went.  I luckily did sleep some, but MAN! I don't understand.  They just sort of stop during the day.  I know they are doing something but I am so ready to have this baby.  At least I can rest in the idea that it is probably going to go super fast.  I do feel like she could come tonight though, because unlike other days, I have still been getting strong contractions - they didn't stop at night.  They just aren't regular enough yet.  So we will see!  Amber, maybe you will get a call ;) but you sound so busy this week getting things done and getting ready for your trip!

I have a few pictures.  Here is the dresser I painted!  The panel of fabric came out a little small after I sewed it, but it looks a lot better than having no drawer on the bottom!  The closet is still kind of messy, because we haven't finished organizing it, but I love how bright it is.  Oh and that little shelf with the stars on it to the left is one of the shelves we got at the rotary auction!  It has jungle animals painted on the sides and is really cute....waiting for a home, because we have to move some other furniture out of the room still.

And I got these cute suitcases at the rotary auction for only $3!  Aren't they so fun??

Here is the other nightstand we got for Shea.  Its in really good condition (after I goo-goned 20 insect stickers off the side!) and can easily go in a different room if it doesn't work in his forever.

Oh and here is my 39 week picture.  I don't think I posted it.  I think my belly looks small in it.  But I think that is partially because Hailey has dropped so very low, I don't stick out as much.  People at church were asking me when I was due this last Sunday and I said "Thursday!", somehow everyone was shocked even though they ask me like every week.  One family stared at me in unbelief and were like "no, I was going to guess you're only like 6 months!"   So people don't give me much sympathy when I complain about wanting to be "done" being pregnant, because they think if you carry small you must not be uncomfortable.  WELL thats not how it works.  I am very thankful when I look at other girls and see them swelling and carrying a lot more extra weight than I do, but I am still uncomfortable!  Anyway, we'll see if I get to take a 40 week picture on Thursday or not!    I'd rather be taking a picture of a newborn though!

how fun that everyone posted today!  I didn't want to do any chores during the rest of naptime anyway, so I'm happy for the distraction.

  1. The rotary auction sounds awesome, you got some adorable and super practical stuff for awesome prices, that is my kind of place! I love you baby bump, though I know it will be gone very soon, but a very adorable baby girl will be there to replace the bump and that is so so so so exciting! I love hearing about you day as usual!
