Today I am so so thankful for a hardworking hubby that goes to work 50+ hours a week so I can stay home with our little munchkin. I do plan on picking up shifts, maybe even as soon as next week, but knowing I only have to work when I "want" to is such a blessing. (I don't know if I ever want to work but you get what I mean :) ).
Eli is changing so much every day. Different smiles, fake coughs to get our attention, wiggles like his life depends on it, loves to stand if we hold his hands, still refuses most afternoon naps, has been spitting up way more, has introduced us to the joy of teething, and has been practicing rolling from back to tummy (we are almost there!) There is no place I would rather be than home with this munchkin.
Speaking of teething this guy is also going through a growth spurt right now. I think God is kind and makes you forget the waking up every few hours for feedings because wow, I don't remember it being as painful as it has been the last two nights. I know I am spoiled having him only wake up once a night since he was 6 weeks old I think, but this whole waking up every few hours to eat during this growth spurt is killing me! I am praying his sleep goes back to normal in a few days. I didn't get more than 3 consecutive hours of sleep last night, and to think I would have started working full time starting today!
I have been organizing even more these last few weeks, I just can't stop. I have also been purging a ton of stuff too. Every time I go through things I get rid of a little bit more. It is ridiculous how much stuff we have, and how we still have empty drawers and extra room in closets. Stuff can be overwhelming and I just want to get rid of the excess!
I wish I would have taken a before picture of the guest room closet. Lets just say the door barely closed and everything was in falling apart cardboard boxes (well a few of the plastic bins were already there). Paul got rid of some childhood toys he didn't want (sold them actually) and I organized the rest. It's funny how before things get more clean they always get so much more messy! As I was organizing the craft room it looked like it exploded!
Eli in his sweet outfit from some friends, he actually wore it to church this sunday, the cute jacket came off the second we got to church because this kid is so warm blooded! I actually got dressed up and did my hair more than usual for church and it was so fun! Oh and I got to pick Amber up and we got to go together and then we hung out as I helped her around the house later in the day. Eli took amazing naps at Ambers house! Yes, I did have to bring his swing but still!
I had to wake him up from a nap at 6 to go home and see his daddy and he snuggled me, he never snuggles so this was so special, I love this little dude more than I can explain!
Lowes after a Wendy's date with my two boys. It's funny how any time we all get out of the house together it seems like a date :).
Eleanor comes every time I am nursing Eli to supervise, its half cute half creepy how she stares at us.
Blogger is being weird and messing up all my pictures, I hope they show up correctly.
Matching smirks, floor wiggles, daddy cuddles, and camera stares.
Morning bath and fire wiggles, bouncing in his bouncer, play time in the car after a massive blow out that resulted in wearing a too small onesie (the only one in the car), and asleep at the bank as we set up his first bank account!
Walks in the sunshine, looking boss in his big boy jacket, a very very fussy day where bedtime routine started at 6:30, and a little wiggle monster that stares at me every time I put my phone or camera above him.
On Saturday Paul rode his motorcycle to Tri Cities and back to trade with another guy. I made a cheesecake and hung out at home. The only picture I got of the two of us was blurry, shucks, I am keeping it anyway. He was tired and sore after his ride, but such a trooper. We had a birthday party at our house with his family that evening and Eli went down by 8pm even with everyone around. Eli slept 8.5 hours that night! And then our growth spurt started.....
Gabe came over on Monday and we went on a walk around the neighborhood and hung out outside. It was the last nice day before weeks of rain is predicted. Sunshine please come back!
Birth. Nailed it! Eleanor is a freak, like I said, always around while nursing. Eli spit up all over me and was a bit proud of himself, and Eric stole the back half of my chair, apparently when you sit just on the tip of your chair the rest is fair game in the cat world.
Little dude was smiling and squirming at 12:15am last night, at least he is adorable when he chooses to wake up every few hours to eat. :) Also he slept with his arm over his face and kicking the rails last night, he is going to be a busssssy boy when he can move more!
His hair has gotten out of control!
And a caramel macchiato. I can't explain how much I love making lattes/ other coffees every morning. A billion times cheaper than a coffee shop and it tastes the same to me. Score!
I love Eli's thunder thighs!! All of your pictures of him are so precious, even his crying ones! I'm so happy that you get to stay home with Eli, what a blessing and precious time for you both.
ReplyDeleteI've been in the purging mood too! I've been working on clearing out our baby room and my closet and have gotten rid of so much stuff! There's still a lot more than needs to go, it's such a good feeling to purge!
Loved your post and pictures. :)
