I feel good, nanananananana.

Helloooo ladies! Here is an update of my past week complete with pictures!!!!! The adventure started last Friday. It starts sad but gets better so KEEP READING!

Friday

Had a rough Friday because I'd been feeling anxious all week about nothing in particular. I found it more difficult than ever to clean, drive, or do anything that required standing because as soon as my blood started moving, I'd get an adrenaline rush and suddenly my muscles would go weak. And I cried all the time. Totally psychological, I know. Dude, I have problems. But I'm feeling better now.

Saturday

Not a good day. Pass!

Sunday

The highlight of Sunday was childcare! We had lots of help so I spent most of my time with a new kid who was very clingy. By the end he was playing with toys as long as I was nearby. He even used the bathroom which I think is pretty significant for a scared 2-year old in a new place wearing a pull-up. Anyway, it was good to feel like the strong one.

Monday

Joe and I ran errands all morning, including:

  • library to pick up books
  • ATM to deposit checks
  • Safeway. Lipton pyramid bag tea was on amazing sale so we bought one of every kind they had! Then I learned that Paul had bought Angela the same thing because of the sale! So funny that both our husbands work at Safeway and show their wives love through tea!
Then we packed and headed to North Bend! When we got to the B&B, the very nice hosts offered us a free upgrade. So basically we paid the cheapest price for the most expensive room! That's what I keep telling people, but I just looked and it's not their most expensive. It does have the nicest view though! Probably! Here's a link with pictures.

And here are my pictures from the porch outside the main window, which don't look half as nice as the photos on the site so you should check those out. Basically the house is on top of a cliff overlooking the river.

The first thing I noticed were comfy robes for our use! How luxurious! And you can see the rose theme clearly on the wall border. The theme was pretty, even if it was all very very pink.

The bed, and the decorations.

THE ROCK. Yes, there was a rock in the room. Or a floor-to-ceiling boulder. Here's the story: Originally the house was one top level. The owner decided to expand his square footage and add a lower level to his house, but ran into this rock while digging. He tried to get rid of it, even trying to blow it up (there's a dynamite hole in it!!) and almost blew up his whole house. Now the rock stays, very artsy. On the other side of the wall behind the rock is a sauna and the rock goes through the wall, into the sauna.

See?

DID I MENTION IT HAD A SAUNA!!!! A private sauna! SO NICE!

After checking in we had dinner at the North Bend Bar and Grill and were pleasantly surprised at the yumminess of the food. We got cheesecake for dessert which wasn't really amazing.

Tuesday

Our breakfast was delivered at 8:30 AM! Here it is in the pretty basket..

.

And here it is, all laid out! The whipped cream things are some kind of banana cream thing which I didn't eat, obviously. The baked dishes are ham and cheese quiche! And scones in the middle! With jelly! I am so inspired to make scones! Becca Baker do you have any great recipes for meeee?

I made myself a cup of my new lipton tea and made Joe take a picture of me just for this blog. The view behind me looks like just trees but it really drops straight down to the river you saw earlier.

After breakfast we still had an hour before we had to check out, so I took a wonderful relaxing nap and awoke feeling just spectacular! It was so nice to see Joe relax and read his book.

Then we went to the North Bend outlet mall. Joe bought me some chocolate and I bought him a bunch of new clothes - yay, except that his birthday is in four days and I was going to buy them for that. Maybe some of them will count toward his birthday present.

We went out to lunch at Mongolian Grill which usually I love but this place irked me because they had so many rules. Some Mongo grills are "all you can eat" and some are "only one dish but you can take it home". This one was like "only one dish and you can't take it home". Then they had all these rules like "only this many ounces of meat" (how do you know how much meat you're taking???) and how much oil you were allowed to use. It was all typical seat-yourself, serve yourself, get your own drinks, so we weren't really paying for service, which makes me mad that it cost me $9 to "eat out" and not even get to take home leftovers. But there's my rant, I'm done.

Oh and they had no seafood. Angry face.

Finally we went home. I was in pretty good spirits, but when we walked in the door our plumber was still not done repiping the house and had rearranged the kitchen. All the under-the-sink stuff were strewn on the floor, all his tools and drop cloths, the fridge was pushed out, all the stuff on top of the fridge was off it. I convinced Joe to take me to Wendy's and then I went to Bible Study which was awesome!! I am so glad I went! I didn't want to be around people but Joe told me I should (if only to get my whiny self away from him for a few hours).

Wednesday

Lazy morning. I let Gordo outside at about 10, and went to an appointment at 2. I saw him outside - usually he wants to come in for lunch but he didn't want in. I pet him and went to my appointment, came home an hour later and didn't see him for the rest of the day.

I kept calling for him, and before we went to bed we went around the block to look for him. I broke down in tears and hardly slept.

Thursday

I woke up and immediately we went out looking for Gordo. Couldn't find him. Angela called and I said "Gordo's missing", looked out the window and there he was, just sitting on the porch! He didn't want to come inside, wouldn't come near me, nothing. He wouldn't touch the food I put outside and when I tried to catch him, he ran under the house. Very abnormal for my cuddlebug!

But eventually I caught him. He pretty much just laid down wherever I put him. He had no interest in food or water and basically slept the rest of the day, except for trying to get outside a couple times.

Angela came over and helped me with a task I have been reading for weeks: Cleaning the kitchen floor. With all the dirt being tracked in between working on the bathroom and repiping the house, it hasn't made sense to do more than the occasional sweep. Finally the repipe was done. Angela cleaned the floor while I did laundry and tidied up, and now I feel like I can cook again!

Friday

Today! This morning the first thing I did was make a vet appointment for Gordo. The vet couldn't find anything physically wrong with him, but she said he was obviously not feeling well and good job to me for noticing the signs and bringing him in. She convinced me to do blood work on him, but I said no to all the other tests. And they gave him IV fluids, which (after our experience with the feral cats) sometimes does wonders to restore a cat's appetite.

I paid and got in the car, smelled urine, and poor Gordo had peed all over himself in his carrier. I took him back in and they cleaned him up for me and cleaned the carrier and everything! That was so nice! And I was overjoyed that he had peed because he hadn't done it for at least 24 hours, if not more, so it was a sign that the fluids were helping.

A long time ago I took a cat to a different vet, and she diarrhea'd all over herself and her carrier. I had to clean them both up on the waiting room floor with some towels they gave me, while everyone else in the waiting room held their noses and watched. How embarrassing that was!

Looking forward to spending some time at Angela's today.

Other news:

Stuff is moving slowly with the house. We're not sure why things are taking so long, but we have to keep asking our realtor to send stuff to our bank - I guess he's busy, but this is kind of important. Whatever, each week it takes, the more we have in savings before we're paying two mortgages (don't worry we're almost done with the first mortgage).

My ankle is still hurting and I really miss the gym. I hope I won't regress when I come back - I was so proud of myself for running a 10 minute mile, it'll not be fun to work back up to that.

My jaw is all better! It still clicks occasionally but I have zero jaw pain.

I am so happy today because Gordo is feeling better. Last night I kept dreaming that he had died; when I woke up I was going to ask Joe to check and see if he was dead downstairs before I got up, but then I realized he was sleeping at my feet! MY GOOD BOY! He has gotten much love from me today. He's just sleeping on the couch now; if he hasn't eaten by this afternoon we'll try some good ol' force feeding, at which I am quite handy because of the feral cat experience.

Love you girls! Thanks for bearing with me through this monstrous post!

Another similarity with our husbands...Justin's birthday is March 3, close to Joe's! :)
