what a day...!

Hi Girls!  I've actually had a great day, but I'm coming off of a busy weekend and I feel like I've been going non-stop!  If it isn't work and taking care of mundane housewifely things, it's ministry (I think we've had people over 5 out of 7 days this past week).

So my big accomplishment of the day was tackling our bedroom closet.  I went to WalMart and got some closet/under the bed storage containers to get things organized.  I threw out a lot of stuff and got rid of some clothes.  It may not look so amazing, but it is SO much less crammed, and I got our drum set which was sitting out in our bedroom tucked away in there too.

Now...I still have a lot more to do in the bedroom.  When my sister moved out, we kind of quickly shuffled a lot of stuff from one room to the other, and a lot of it got thrown in the bedroom.  I absolutely hate having a messy bedroom.  I want to be able to just relax when I go to bed, and I hardly want to be in our bedroom these days.  So, I'm posting a picture of the three areas left to clean as motivation to get it done.  oh so embarrassing...

Oh and this is a very low quality picture of me ridiculously excited about my new full-length mirror that I finally bought today (for the past 8 months I've had to stand on the couch to look in the mirror over the mantle if I want to see how I look head to toe.  I only noticed that this was a problem last Sunday, when I noticed in the car I was wearing blue tights instead of the black ones I thought I grabbed...)

And here is Shea sometime last week while eating:

I definitely need to post a picture of him in his spiderman costume and of his new hair cut!

Here are some other things I did today:

  • Made lunch for my hubby TWO days in a row
  • Ok this might sound really arrogant, but I had an awesome hair-day (and it was even better because I took a shower and decided to not do anything to my hair but put some mousse and other hair product in it.  I usually straighten it, but I absolutely loved it curly today)
  • did the dishes
  • mailed a package I've been meaning to send out for 2 weeks
  • talked to Amber on my way home from work, which was so much fun!
  • Went thrift store shopping with Shea and found him a really cute rain jacket for only 2 bucks!
Other than having a fairly hectic day at work (but I have the most fun job, so its never that bad) and dealing with a fussy tired baby most of the day, I had a great day!

Thanks for sharing in my day :)

  1. That's increadible you have people over so often. I am so glad there are people like you who have a heart for things like that, because man, I need my alone time at the house sometimes!

The closet looks wonderful! And I love you were able to fit the drumset in, it's all about maximizing the space!

I love full length mirrors ( I never want to go back to not having one) and I love your outfit! And Shea is absolutely adorable. :)

  2. I loved your pictures so much, especially your closet! That was a great post and very interesting! By the way, Joe does have to work on Friday so it'll just be me - but I still look forward to seeing you!

  3. Angela - Even though I like to entertain a lot, I also REALLY enjoy my quiet evenings at home. So I feel like God is kind of taking me out of my comfort zone a little bit and cultivating my gifts of hospitality. I know its a good thing, but sometimes I want to whine about it :P.

And, I can't believe I went so long without one! Getting dressed today felt so much easier!

Amber - I can't wait to see you on Friday night! Sorry Joe has to work - I don't know yet if it will be all three of us or just me and Shea.
