Last night I came down with a cold. :( I had to work from 5-9:30 and close by myself - which is really quite a bit of work for one person, although I usually end up doing it 2 - 3 times a week. I survived though, and I went home and immediately went to bed with a very stuffy nose and eventually fell asleep. Shea slept in today though (close to 8am), so that was helpful, and I haven't had any morning sickness today.
We took a trip to Fred Meyer and I got some baking supplies for this weekend (my cookie exchange Christmas party is next Monday night), and got our final present for Shea this year (a mr. potato head set - it came with 40 pieces, I'm excited about it, ha). After going to Costco for lunch and meeting a lady from Craigslist for a christmas present for someone else, we met my parents for an hour at the mall and they got to play with Shea in the play area.
After all of this - without a nap - Shea had his 2 year checkup at the doctors - and I am amazed at how well he did! We have been playing doctor since his birthday when we gave him a little pretend doctor set, so I think that may have helped. He wasn't totally happy about it, but he suffered through it and obeyed and we had no major meltdowns. I was so relieved when she told me he only needed one shot and now he doesn't need anymore until he is 4 years old! It is so hard to hold down your little one while they get hurt. The nurse was so good though - sometimes we have gotten really bad nurses or just jam the shots in carelessly, but she was so quick and efficient. He was a total champ and walked out of the room smiling.
Here he is with his ice cream reward once we got home (he's saying "III CREAM"):
Anyway, Jeremy is coming home in a minute and I'm trying to decide if I want to take a nap, clean the kitchen, or wrap some presents. Maybe all three will happen, but a nap might be the most important for me right now.
I love that we are all posting more right now! Becca, Shea is adorable with his III cream! You are a busy busy women and it never ceases to surprise me. You are amazing!
