Two in a row!

Angela helped me a lot on Sunday and Monday to get things organized.  Yesterday I tackled the spare room; today, I was cleaning up some of the shrapnel from the spare room project and I realized I had way more medicines/medical supplies than would fit in our two kitchen drawers.  Also, I realized we rarely, if ever, access most of it.  And do we really need two jumbo Costco-sized bottles of Tylenol at hand, when just one will do?

Since Angela had just organized my laundry room, I used some of the newly opened space to do this:

I know "Cat Stuff" is there too; I just didn't want people to see that I had the cat worm medicine stuffed all together with our digestive aids and stuff.  Because that would imply that we have worms.  And we don't, and if we did we wouldn't take cat medicine.

So now we just have the daily basic meds in our medicine drawer, which suddenly has a ton of room in it for anything else!  Plus one completely empty kitchen drawer I don't even know what to do with, but it shouldn't be too hard to come up with something.  So thank you Angela - for the inspiration and for clearing the space for me!

Here is the picture of the tree skirt Angela and I made from a 52" round tablecloth.  Meaning, we cut a hole from the center and a slit down the side.  Improvements might include a hem down the slit, which is starting to fray from the cats thinking it's a sheet to dive under, a ribbon for the trunk hole which I cut too big and so it exposes some of the wire stand, and some ribbon to tie the skirt closed at the slit.

It was funny; I had found this which, though sew-less and assuring that even "a person with little or no craft skills" could make it, had me sick with worry.  This was WAY behind my capabilities!  I don't even have a glue gun!  So of course I asked Angela for help.  She kindly did - and then, it turned out, we didn't use the glue gun, we didn't use lace or bows, we didn't do anything to make it fancy because it looks great on its own (and besides, there will be presents covering it up!).  So basically Angela came over to help me cut about eight inches of fabric.  Haha!

Love!
