Why hello December

Becca I always love reading your posts! You inspire me to post more. Now that I have data on my phone I always read my blogs on there, meaning I am almost never on the computer, meaning I forget to post because there is no way I am typing a whole post on my phone, there would be like 1000 spelling errors.

Life has been kinda laid back around these parts, I have had colds, cramps, but now am feeling better and trying to stay ahead of the Christmas season, but it always has a way of making me feel behind! The day of Thanksgiving I put up the tree before heading over the the in-laws house. This year we have a charlie brown looking fake tree again. When everything goes on sale we are getting a nice fake tree after Christmas. I love it when other people have real trees, but heck, I can't even get my kitties to leave the ornaments alone none the less if I had a real tree in the house! Oh man, I can't even imagine!

I have actually been baking and cooking a lot lately. I love having the oven on and warming up the house extra. I made burritos and pizza balls to freeze. I have made lemon loaf, banana bread, brownies, molasses cookies. Much of which went in the freezer. I made breakfast quesidillas, mushrooms and green beans coated in balsamic vinegar and olive oil and baked at 400 for 20 minutes. I love having the time and energy to bake. I am finally starting to feel like I am working 32 hours a week instead of 40 (it felt like 50 a week when I started). I finally have the energy to do stuff when I am at home and not feel too tired when I go to work.

I have love the start of this Christmas season! I am keeping Christmas decorations to a minimum this year, though Pinterest is making me want to decorate more and more! Slowly but surely I will get more stuff year by year cheaply and making them on my own. Becca inspires me! I love all your decorations! Especially the sticks in the vases and the ornaments hanging from the bookshelf. Gorgeous!

The Christmas cards are out, the lights are hung, the cats are attacking the tree, biting the ornaments, the Christmas season is here.

Our kitties are getting huge! It is their favorite thing ever when I wrap presents. They love the crinkle of the paper and the movement of the string. They attack it, watch from a distance, meow. It's kinda cute. They are growing, they are loving, they are crazy.

I got new slipper boots the day after thanksgiving. On sale for 33 instead of the normal 85. I am so so so happy with them, they keep my toes warm and dry as I walk inside and outside.

The other day I worked from 7am-3pm, got home at 3:40, Kathy came by, we went to a house inspection for an hour at a house they have on offer in for (a house that is 1/4 mile from Amber and a couple miles from Paul and I :) ). Then we went on a coupe errands and I was so tired! So Paul took me out to Pho Thai for dinner and it was amazing. Warm Pho in my tummy, no dishes to take care of. Perfect.

That gingerbread ornament is in the upstairs guest bathroom...um kitties, I don't think that is where I put it.

My bro and dad after a long car ride from Salem to Seattle, so wish I could have been with them for thanksgiving but I had a blast with my in-laws!

Did you know that hairspray gets ink out of clothes?! Well those ink marks on the paper towel, I did that like 30 different times and then washed the pants and there is still ink in the pants. I will teach Paul how to get the rest of it out and then he can finish the rest. :) It was getting annoying doing it!

A little more Christmas decorations! The teal balls, I got like 16 of them at goodwill for $1, I got a bunch of silver ones and multicolored ones too. Best place to buy stuff ever.

Today Paul and I are decorating the tree outside. Paul bought some plastic ball ornaments and big lights, I am pretty stoked and will take pictures for sure! You know me.

I hope everyone is having a glorious Christmas season. :)

Miss you girls! I love reading it when you girls blog! And I am going to try and blog more...I really am!

  1. your food looks amazing. I seriously need to start cooking more delicious looking meals like that and making things to take to work that are healthy.

Love your boot slippers and your simple decorations! Simple is good. I'm already thinking about how I'm going to have to take down everything and then find different things to fill those spaces. haha. Oh and I'm glad to know you have a fake tree as well. Ours just isn't a top quality one, but its growing on me a little bit. It IS convenient, anyway.

  2. Pinterest is such an inspiration for me to make food! Otherwise I would be stuck making the same boring recipes I have always made. :) I am so excited for your pregnancy and love that you are using a midwife! I definitely want to do that, and have a home birth, but we will see if the insurance will pay for that when the time comes.

Fake trees are SO convenient (and WAY cheaper in the long run). I grew up till about 12 having a real one and then since we were always gone for Christmas time and it always died we started using a fake tree (the one I have right now actually). Your tree looks awesome in the picture just so you know!
