Happy Monday

My first day back at work was good!  I was so worried I wouldn't wake up early enough though - I don't know why, Shea got up bright and early at 6AM.  I think it might work better when he gets up that early though, because I end up getting ready faster and he has more time to eat breakfast.  So, we actually got out the door 10 minutes early, which meant I got to stop and buy a coffee with my gift cards from Christmas on my way to work. Anyway, class was fun as always - the kids were all excited to be back at school.  We had to do assessments though, because parent-teacher conferences are next week, so we didn't do as many fun projects.  Shea was so excited to be back at daycare with all of his friends and toys.  I'm kind of sad about pulling him out.  It will be nice not to have to pay for it, but I think its good for him to be around other kids and out of the house a little bit a week.  Oh well, I'm sure it will be fine.

Anyway, I accomplished one thing today:  finalizing our taxes(almost).  I got my final pay stub so I was able to put in all of our numbers for the year.  I'm still kind of confused - clergy/minister taxes are so weird.  I have to fill out SO many extra forms...I really hope I did it right.  I think I'm going to have an accountant look at it, because I don't want to mess them up.  All I have left to do is figure out our earned income credit, but I'm tired of filling out forms, so I'm going to do it later.

Jeremy is helping my parents move into their new apartment down the street right now, so in about half n hour I have to go pick him up on our way to our church staff meeting.  Before then - if Shea will allow me to (he's kind of clingy right now) - I'm going to try and get the kitchen cleaned up so I don't have to worry about it later.

Happy Monday!

  1. Thanks for the update! I'm so glad you get to save all that extra money. And I'm sure Shea will get his social interaction somewhere other than daycare. Plus, he'll get to know his grandma!

It might not always be ideal to have your parents extra close to you, but I was thinking: you and Jeremy have been far from your family and friends, and this might be a good connection to make your lives not so isolated. I know your parents aren't perfect, but maybe God has something amazing planned between the four of you. This could be a great opportunity for relationship revitalization!

    Love, Amber

  2. thats a good outlook on it. No, I think it will be good that they're nearby - we're really excited about having Matt here, because we think he may be a great catalyst to get the youth we have more interested. I'm just not sure about the block way thing...haha. I know it will be just fine! :) Thanks for the encouragement and positive attitude.

  3. Your taxes sound crazy confusing! Paul and mine are going to be a bit odd for the next two years (this one because I nannied, got married, and got a new job) next year because of the house we bought.

And I'll be praying everything goes well with your parents living so close! :) I am sure it will.
