Shea playing wiht his new letters - he's discovered that they stick to the wall of the tub and to himself! haha |
It is so quiet right now, I am amazed! Normally Shea is up between 6 and 7 in the morning, but last night he went to bed pretty late, so I am so glad he is sleeping in (he didn't wake up once last night, which he has done before, but not lately due to teething. I was waking up every hour or so thinking he was up - just so you know, moms never get sleep, even if their kids are sleeping! :) )
So, I am enjoying a cup of tea and catching up on my email. Yesterday was Jeremy's birthday, and we both totally forgot! I only knew because I saw a post on facebook before I left for work, and I was like "OH, Jer, it's your birthday, I forgot" and he was like "what? OH....yeah, I forgot too." ha. 24 is such a BIG deal, how could we forget, right? :P
Anyway, so I went to work and it was kind of a longish tiring day, because they have so many new babies up in the toddler room. I have to go up there for an hour at the end of my 4 year old class, but even an hour is more than enough for me.
Then Shea and I came home, I stopped and put some gas in my car, he went down for a nap and then Jeremy told me we were probably going to go out on a DATE withOUT a child! yay! So I cleaned most of the house - dishes, kitchen floor, tidied frontroom/hallway, vacuumed, tidied the front hall closet. Then we ran out to Walmart, because I had to get some thank-you notes and pictures printed for my Grandma.
I took a shower and actually dressed semi-nice (I even wore a necklace and a skirt). Jeremy got home from his meeting and we went up to Silverdale, where we dropped off Shea at the mall with his parents, and they were so nice - they even surprised us with a $25 gift card to Olive Garden (where we were planning on going)! So we had soup and salad and bread sticks (My favorite part) and only had to pay $6+tip. It was so nice! Then we walked around target and the mall for about 45 minutes looking for our son (his parents weren't answering their phone), when I realized I had left my phone at the restaurant. Leave it to me!
SO I had to go back and get that while Jeremy finally found his parents. Then we came home and had a nice quiet evening before going to bed.
I also bought new silk PJ's at Target. Like, real button up the front Pajamas. I always just wear sweats or maybe some pajama pants and a shirt to bed, but we're having pajama day at school twice this month, so I decided to buy some on clearance (for $4 I think it will be worth it). I tried them on last night though, and I think I'm going to be wearing them all the time now, they're so soft and comfy!
A few other pictures to share:
We got a box of Christmas presents from my grandma this week for Shea, so he got to open up some more gifts:
Here he is playing with his new car:
So glad this week is almost over! Getting back into working mode has been harder than I thought! I want to hear more from you girls! :)
becca, Shea is sooo adorable in those pictures! I'm glad you got comfy pj's. Joe got me some for Christmas and they are like heaven - and they're gray!
ReplyDeleteI know what you meant about getting back into working mode. I'm not fully into school mode yet. Love you!
I agree with Amber, I love all the pictures! I bet it is exhausting working with all the new babies, but I so wish I could do it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so glad you and Jeremy got to go out on a date! That was so sweet of his parents! :)
