in the quiet, misty morning...

I just found this picture on my computer...must have been
from when I was really into making cheesy inspirational collages...haha

happy sunday morning!  I hope you girls are having a good weekend (or if you or your hubby's are working, that you're upcoming time off is relaxing!)

I have a couple of hours to kill before church, and my house is actually pretty much completely clean!  Having guests is always a good motivator to get things done!  So I decided that I'll write a post, play with Shea, and catch up on my Esther Bible Study.

The past few days have been a little bit busy, because my parents moved in around the corner, and I've been going over there to help them get unpacked.  They've been downsizing every move for the past 3 moves, but still had way too much stuff at their last place (partly due to having a garage and stuffing everything in there).  Now they're in an apartment and they got rid of a ton of stuff, but still have a lot to go through and get rid of.  My mom  is being pretty good about getting rid of stuff, but still needs a lot of support and just a person to say "do you really need this?  I say resale." and just put it in the resale bin quickly.  Friday night I went over for an hour before Shea's bedtime and got a good portion of the kitchen put together with her, and then Saturday I went over for about 2 or 3 hours and we were able to get quite a few boxes unpacked.  Its going to take some time though, so I'm thinking I'm going to be over there a lot in the upcoming afternoons.

One of Jeremy's old quizzing friends - Amber knows him too (David Norris) - came and spent the night last night, because he wanted to visit our church and doesn't have a working car right now.  It was fun to have him over - it got me to clean the entire house, including the guest bathroom and shower.    It made me really want a third bedroom though, so we can have guests more easily.  Especially since we live far enough away that if our friends do come out to visit, it makes the drive more worth it if they can spend the night comfortably.

Anyway, Jeremy's Amazon order from Christmas came in the mail last night, so we stayed up until 12:30 watching Inception, and then we woke up at 6 this morning (Thanks, Shea).

I made some scones, which turned out SO good (my scones are always kind of hit or miss), and some lattes.  We played a little bit of music, and then the boys left to go set up church.

I am really enjoying having a long quiet morning at home.  OK, well it would be quiet except that Shea is playing with the Snare Drum right now, haha.

  1. How sweet of you to dedicate a week of all your free time to help your parents organize their new apartment. :) Sounds like life has been busy but fun! I love inception! And I love lattes! :)
