where did the sun come from??

OH MY it is gorgeous out!  I am so happy to have the day to enjoy!  Shea got up at like 6:30 this morning and cuddled poked and hugged and talked to me until I finally got out of bed at like 6:50.  I made him some cereal, sat at the table with him, and then went back to bed. haha.  I was so tired, I don't know what my deal was.  But I ended up resting in bed until almost 8:20!  I told Jeremy to buy his lunch today.  I have faithfully made it for him every morning for the past 3 1/2 weeks since he started his job, but today, I took a break.  And I felt really good when I got up!  After a shower, Shea and I went out shopping.  I was on a mission to buy some pillows today and look for some things for the guest room.  I need to get it in shape for next month - my sister is coming to spend a couple of days with me to work on some projects, and I wanted it together in case my mom comes to stay when the baby comes, or anyone else who might visit.

I scored at Ross!  I found some sheets I like for a very reasonable price, and TWO curtain panels for less than the usual price of one.  I didn't take a picture of those, because I need to get a curtain rod.  I hung this funky one up just for now, but it looks awful.  Anyway, they are nice dark brown ones with a thermal lining and the big grommets, and then I got a white one to let some light in during the day without looking right at the neighbors front windows.
Target even had pillows on clearance - $4 for the slightly nicer standard pillows.  So yeah, I'm happy.  Shea helped me make the bed.  Here's how it looks for now:

The headboard is actually part of the crib though so that will be gone, and the bed is super low to the ground because we have no boxspring and its just on one of those metal frames.  I'm hoping to either find a boxspring or a real bedframe soon, but it will do for now.  We also need to paint the walls BADLY.  Hopefully that will happen on one of these weekends in June I have off. Then I just need to figure out a new headboard.  You don't even know the improvement it makes just having real bedding and pillows though.  It was terrible before.  Oh and that table is one I found for free on the side of the road a while ago.  I want to refinish it and do some fun stenciling on the top.

Anyway, after our morning of shopping, we came home, played outside a bit, and had lunch.  After working on the guestroom, Shea went down for his nap, and when he gets up we are going to the park with the cousins!  The clothes are out on the line and I'm going to go and do all the housework so it isn't a disaster all weekend while I don't have any time or energy to clean!  Then I have to work tonight at 6, but only for 3 1/2 hours, which makes me happy!  Tomorrow I work 9 hours and on Sunday I work 10 hours, and I'm assuming Monday will be a long day too, but I don't get to know my schedule that day until Sunday - I could end up working close to 30 hours in a span of 3 days though!  And this is kind of a weird pic, I just took it because my belly looked so weird to me, ha, and this is my new clearance maternity shirt from target.  At least I did a good job of not revealing a lot of cleavage!

I hope you ladies get to enjoy the sunshine today!! I LOVE it!!

  1. The sun was amazing today! Amber and I were sitting outside at her house and I was getting too hot, and then all the sudden I heard thunder, and more thunder, and then a freak thunderstorm happened (we didn't see lightening though). Amber and I also went shopping for your baby shower today and I so wish I could post a picture of everything and how I wrapped it. :) I love your new maternity shirt, so cute! Can't wait to see you next Saturday!

Oh and I LOVE your new bedding. I was just at target yesterday wanting new pillow cases and two cases were 23 dollars!! I went to Ross and got two cases for 5 dollars, much more up my alley. :)

  2. Your bed looks great! I also really like your idea of stenciling the top of that little table, I'm sure that will turn out really cute too. It makes me feel good knowing that you have lots of projects you want to do around the house and it just takes time to get them done. I feel like our 'to do list' is crazy long. But if I work on things bit by bit like you have, it'll look nice after some time. Wow, I can't believe how much you are working! I hope your energy level goes up for those days. I love the bump!
