Apple Crisp

I just made an apple crisp to surprise Joe with tonight, PLUS made another one and divided it into two disposable baking pans to freeze!  Pics!  I froze the topping separate from the crisp so it wouldn't get mushy.

I hope to start doing this with meals, too.  And I hope this will have two purposes:  to make easy dinners, and to give away dinners to help people out sometimes.

It was so nice to only get out and put away ingredients once, to only use one set of dishes and thus have only one load of dishes to wash.  I would like to get in the habit of always being prepared to make two dishes of whatever I'm making.

  1. Ah. Maybe I am weird, but isn't there a great sense of accomplishment in just seeing things like that lined up all nicely and ready to be put in the freezer? Ha. Looks yummy, too! I left my freezer door open the other night and thawed out all of our food and ice cream...so now I have plenty of room to start doing things like this too! :)

  2. Wow Amber, I'm impressed! Its funny because I was just over at Justin's parent's house yesterday and his mom had made three apple crisps too! (they were for a big dinner though not to freeze)
You have inspired me to freeze dinners too. Way to go Amber!
