Two in a row. Yup!

Christmas at Amber and Joe's house was wonderful. We had dutch babies, fruit cocktail, fruit salad, sausage, and bacon for breakfast. And they had Pot Roast for lunch (and Amber was so kind to pack some up for me and it was AMAZING).

We had breakfast, opened stockings, opened presents, played zomies, took a mini nap, then I went to work and they partied with Nana and Grandpa and an Aunt and Uncle.

Amber actually smiles for pictures unlike everyone else! :) Stockings were awesome.

I got this awesome new mug set from Amber and Joe so I finally have mugs big enough to drink a normal cup of tea out of. Amber got a nook...and she had to charge it, so she sat next to the wall and charged while she fiddled. :)

On the 27th Paul and I were in Salem for my Grandma's birthday. Yep, 87 as I mentioned before. So awesome. She still keeps a spotless house and decorates more than I do. I want to be like her.

She blew out the candles and opened the presents. We all watched, She smiled and cried a bit. Love it.

I was tired before work the other day and Eric is my faithful nap buddy. I was sad to have to move him when I left (but still don't trust him not to pee on the bed so he had to be moved).

I did mega amounts of laundry when we got back from Oregon and Eric tried to be my helper, instead he really just took up a lot of room. but at least he is cute! I undecorated the house on the 31st, so teh gingerbread house went into the garbage can, I was a little sad to see it go, but we will make another one next year! I made these awesome bunting tags and was excited to use one to wrap my moms birthday present. :)

My kitties are hilarous. This cushion is usually Eric's spot, but Eleanor stole it while he was exploring. Eric tried hard to get comfortable with Eleanor but Eleanor was not having it. She got up and slept by the heater while Eric enjoyed his victory of the chair.

Here are all my Christmas decorations minus the tree. Not too many, they really looked like more when they were in their right spots. I also made another "burrito line" yesterday and made a bunch of burritos for the freezer. I didn't have peppers to saute this time though so I used some homemade salsa, hope they are as good!

The cats never sleep in the living room. But today after spending three hours on yard work I grabbed my water and just sat in the chair looking out the front window and Eleanor joined me immediately. Love that girl.

Here is some of the evidence of my yard work. I think I spent about an hour weeding, half hour raking leaves in the back yard and then an hour and a half chopping down blackberries. I didn't get a before pictures of how bad the blackberries were but the difference is incredible, and I have wounds all over my hands and legs to show for it. I am hoping since I cut down the blackberries at least 12 feet (some vines over 30 feet long) that this is the only time I will have to do it this year. My body is beat.

As for now, my body is aching, my eyes are tired, I have had two showers today, and I am watching a boy movie about guns and war with my husband.

Happy 2012!!

  1. Ahh, I always love your pictures. I especially like that in this post, many of the pictures tell my story so I don't have to. Yay for Christmas!
