two days off

After working all weekend (I thankfully picked up a shift last Saturday on my day off), I am happy for two days at home relaxing with my little boy!  We have been so blessed this last week!  Not only did I get to have so much down time at home during the snowstorm (I finished a bunch of new outfits for my shop!), Jeremy actually made up for and MORE for my time off with work he got last week, and he had work yesterday and today.  We even received a random check from Geico for a refund for a former policy - apparently we qualified for a lower rate and didn't get it - it was for $100 - which goes a long way for us right now.

God is so good to us - I don't know how I can ever, ever complain about anything.

Yesterday was so beautiful out and my sister came and visited - I haven't seen her since Christmas.  Didn't get any pictures of our lovely walk on the beach, delicious lunch, and cozy sitting around drinking hot cocoa time.  It was wonderful.

I didn't see Jeremy until about 8PM last night.  We stayed up drinking tea and playing his Carcassone game.  We played two rounds - I cannot beat him in this game, and it makes me really competitive.

This morning we all had breakfast (EDIT: I realize this sounds like it is a big deal that all of us ATE breakfast, as if we don't have enough food for that, or something. haha.  OK we all ate breakfast TOGETHER) - I finally went grocery shopping yesterday, so we had delicious egg "McMuffins" with spinach leaves, tomato, and cheese and some cut up strawberries and bananas mixed together on the side.  And lattes, of course.  So yummy.  I packed Jer a sandwich and he headed off for the day.  Shea and I went out to Walmart to get some essentials and ingredients for a desert I'm making for the church auction on Saturday.

I realized today when we went out that I could not find even one of my reusable shopping bags from fred meyer!  I don't know where they went, because I had like 6 of them at least.  During naptime, I decided to remedy this by sewing some new ones.  I only got one done today, because I wanted to try out the pattern before cutting out a bunch of them.  HERE it is. It is huge.  I might make the next ones slightly smaller, but its nice to have one big one.  It will be good for library trips too!  I made it out of a sheet I bought at a thrift store  a while ago.

Before I got to the tote bag, I made myself a cup of hot cocoa (threw in a few butterscotch chips, mmm!), and cozied up in my bedroom to work on my baby blanket some more.  Its hard to see in this lighting, its more of a mustard/gray color.  Its probably bigger than it needs to be, but oh well!

My cocoa and full jar of marshmallows (that just makes me happy to see)

Son posing, of course (he even made me take TWO pictures).

And can't leave without my belly bump pic from last week.  Before heading to work, so in my work garb of course.  Looks smaller here to me, maybe I didn't eat much this day...:)

Well its back to work tomorrow during the day, and then I have a bunch of projects I'm finally getting to this week that I'm excited to see work out.  What are you doing this rainy day?

  1. Sounds like you are having a great few days. Justin and I play Carassone all the time too, and I can never beat him either!! I should give you some of my grocery bags, I have way too many! But I think your handmade ones are way cuter. Shea is so cute, he always makes me smile. I love all your pictures and I can see that your belly is growing! You look great. Its not really rainy here, more gray. I'm about to head off on my 2 hour drive to Toronto. I need to print out some handouts because I'm leading a 45 min. group discussion on the native children acquiring their first language vs foreign adults learning a second language. I'm a little nervous, but I feel prepared...I think it'll go well, I just want it over with! Thanks for your post, it was a great procrastination. Now I have to get back to getting ready for school. I will post soon-I had a 'bragger blogger' moment and took pictures while I was inspired. Again, loved your post!
