I didn't set an alarm last night after getting home from work, I woke up at 10am today and it felt absolutely wonderful. I told Paul I was chilling and what I was doing. He said it doesn't count as chilling if you do laundry, vacuum, cook, and make the bed. It does though because those things aren't going to take me all day and I am making time for blogging and laying around on the couch too! I am so excited for today...even though it is half over and I just woke up. Haha.
So I got this new app on my phone where it shows you a grid and you take pictures to fill it up. This was my test run while sitting at work waiting for the next shift to come on. (I had a good night at work last night, not often do I have time to buy and fiddle with apps). I was going to delete it but then thought is showed the realness of a nurse. Scrubs, stethascope, dirty pants with who knows what on them (I don't even want to know), a messy desk with random papers pinned we are supposed to read. My vocera.
And then there is me getting ready to leave. The nurse replacing me didn't have many questions so report went super fast and I was the first one to the break room. :)
Yesterday I decided to chill, and when I decided I wanted a quick nap before work I shut my computer to find Eleanor staring at me. Haha silly cats. And then there is my hand after it was eaten alive by blackberry bushes. It is still not completely healed because I have to wash my hands at least 50 times a day at work (mostly with hand sanitizer) and I swim so wounds take a while to heal.
So I know I posted this picture of weeds earlier, and the weeds don't even look that bad in the picture but it took me almost an hour to get the whole bed clear because they have tiny delicate roots that I didn't want to be all over in the dirt. So I carefully de-weeded the bed. Then the next day I went to Home Depot, and the next day Paul and I laid the bark together and I am in love with the new look! I sprayed weeds all over the yard too. So crazy to me to do yard work in January. Paul and I are going to borrow his dads rototiller for the rest of the beds. I am also going to get a quote from this place of how much it would cost to curb the island in our front yard. Probably expensive but I really really want it. I think it would add so much to the front yard and make it a million times easier to take care of !
I don't know if I ever posted a picture of our "new" comforter that I wasn't able to use forever because Eric was peeing on the bed, but here it is in all it's glory. I love it so so so much. I bought a king size because our bed is so tall a queen looks stupid. Crazy how the King almost doesn't fit!
Also my new clock I got for Christmas from my cousin during our exchange. I LOVE it. Thanks to my friend, and maid of honor, Sara who recommended it after I saw hers. It charges my phone and has the numbers bright and big so I can see it at night with my AWFUL vision. Haha.
Oh and my one and only new years resolution is to read my Bible every day. I know this is a common one, but this year I am going to try my hardest to stick to it. I started this read a bible in one year when Paul and I were dating...and I am in August. I have started this Bible a million times and never gotten through it, I kept restarting. This time I am continuing in August and I will get through. When I finish it I have a different version on my phone that I will start using. I am determined.
And here is me this morning. Crazy hair that is growing out, kittens watching me eat my cereal and looking oh so cute, and this beanie baby whose home is in my craft room and who I found by my bed when I woke up this morning with a puncture make through the tag. Thank you sweet kittens. You are so thoughtful.

And last but not least playing around with my new app. Eric, Eric, Eric, and Eric. Love this cuddle boy.
Oh, one more. Waking up to this bunting every day makes me smile, I love it. And I also love waking up at 10am and having no specific agenda. Love.
I LOVED waking up and reading everyone's post this morning.
:)
ha that is funny - I would also consider that kind of day a "chilling" day, but I think my husband would react the same way Paul did! I like your comforter - I have been wanting to get a new one for...like 5 years now, but am waiting to find hte right one for a good price. And, are you growing out your hair, or is it just long because you haven't gotten it cut in a while?
ReplyDeletePS I think I need to make reading my bible every day a resolution too.
ReplyDelete:) it is just long because I haven't got it cut in a while. With my new hair dryer it looks better than it used to as it grows out but I think I am going to keep it short for a while still. My hair cutter is pregnant and I hope she is still there at the beginning of February when I get my hair cut again! Ps I also took. 1.5 hr nap yesterday after getting all my stuff done! Haha
ReplyDeleteI like your comforter too! We just bought a duvet and I'm keeping my eye out for a nice duvet cover. Our comforter is lumpy and looking pretty beat up. I'm glad you had a day to chill, I would do cleaning too. There's a difference when its something you do because you feel like it rather than have to.
