Living in the present (or trying to)

Today was enjoyable. I didn't get a ton of things done but there were a lot of little happy things. Thanks to becca's reminder (see her comment in my last post) I've been more conscious of the "little things" lately.

I haven't been doing my card file thing lately, but I'm starting it up again. I was kind of scared to because I'm so behind on things. So...I put all the cards in the back, cleaned the kitchen, and put the "clean kitchen" card in tomorrow's "to-do". I'll start with the little things and work up from there and try not to get behind again. It'll take a little while to catch up.

Moving is a motivator though!

We bought some shipping supplies today so we can start to sell our unwanted books on Ebay. I'm excited to have less junk around here and more cash!

I had a lovely conversation with my mother in law today when we took my car up there so Joe could work on it. $400 later we have my car back with a flushed air intake system, new air filter, new spark plugs, air in the tire, and my car is washed. Not that being washed helps it run better. I ate way too much sugar today, that's okay - I'm going to the gym tomorrow for sure!

Oh - and I'm feeling better now. I was still feeling pretty sick up until about noon. Took a nap and felt better!

Oh and I'm going to start going to a women's bible study on Tuesdays! Apparently they're mostly my age - some married and some not. =)

Love you girls.

  1. I'm so glad you're feeling better! We all need reminders to re-focus our lives. I love that we can inspire and remind each other of those things! Moving is SUCH a big motivator! I feel like we're going to have such a fresh start at our new place, so its so good to have a season of purging and seeing new opportunities to grow. I am so excited for you guys! And I am also excited about you joining the bible study! I hope you make some great new friendships through it :)

Now I don't know what to do...I'm home while Shea is napping before going back to church. I'm glad for the excuse...sorry if this is bad since I'm the Pastors wife, but the sunday school they are doing right now is sooooo boooorrring and I'm glad to get out of it. Hope you have a great Sunday!!

  2. I am so excited you are starting a bible study! I hung out with the pastor and pastors wife of my parents church yesterday (they are 24 and 26) because they were have a mini vacation over on this side of the state and I told her how I wanted to start going to a bible study, but my schedule makes is darn near impossible. I am so so so happy you found one though!

I am so glad you got to hang out with Kathy! I need to do that more. Yes yes I do.

Love you, hope you are still feeling better and are having an awesome day.
