wow girls! I just have to say that I am absolutely amazed by God's grace and goodness day after day. I feel like 2011 is going to be a year of fullness and amazing things. I just feel it. This last year has felt like such a dessert time for us, and now so many things have happened in the past week that both Jeremy and I feel very encouraged and blessed by, and like we've received a confirmation of where we are supposed to be. Besides all the moving/taxes news, Jeremy has recently found this group of young adults (15/16/21 year olds and a couple older people too) who hang out at the library downtown port orchard. Most of them are stoners, but for some reason they just LOVE Jeremy. He's really had a lot of awesome conversations and excited kids. Today he talked to an older guy he knows who used to be in the alcohol/drug scene, but converted at some point, and they were talking about starting a ministry specifically for this group of people and the guy is really excited to make it happen. Anyway, it just seems like day after day after day so many new opportunities are opening up. It is so good to call my husband for a quick minute to ask him something and have him gush over the phone with excitement over some kid he got to talk to and feel like he was really actually used and something good is coming from this. I love to see him alive and living out his calling in his life! It excites me and makes me want to be a better wife.
Anyway! I was able to get all of our utilities transfered over today for the new house. I'm glad because I found out that our water bill is going to be cheaper than it is here at our apartment! So even though we have to pay for gas (which will probably be cheaper to heat the house anyway), our utilities shouldn't cost too much more than we currently pay.
Last night I felt like I accomplished a lot! I got all of my sewing stuff organized and packed. This took me like 4+ hours. I had no idea it would take me that long! But I wanted it to be easy to unpack so I got it pretty organized. Jeremy got a lot of free boxes from the liquor store, because they're perfect for packing books, and I discovered that the inserts are the perfect size for wrapping and storing all my fabric with! I am so excited - I got 4 messy bins of fabric down to 2 boxes neatly wrapped. Jeremy came in and said, "uh, I would've just thrown that all in a box and called it good for moving." I told him that I was getting it organized for after we moved, not just for packing. And he goes, "Oh, so....you're just kind of having fun right now...?? thats weird." haha. Yes its true, I get a kick out of seeing my fabric perfectly folded and pretty looking. I am weird, I guess. Angela, seeing all of your pictures of decorating your house is getting me so excited to set up our new place! I am especially looking forward to setting up my sewing room. And I have two baby showers at the beginning of March, so as soon as we move in, I have to start working on their gifts!
All I have left to do is call and get our U-Haul scheduled...we have to drive all the way up to his parents house (40 minute drive) with the truck on the day we move, because we're getting a bunch of free furniture from them. A new kitchen table, dining table, couch set (for the rec room), and a desk (for Jeremy's office area). So crazy that we could actually ever need that much furniture!
Today my 3's class had their valentines party. I came home with 22 valentines, a chococlate rose, a box of chocolates, a bouquet of red tulips, and a HUGE platter of pastries (leftover from some brunch at the Christian school we rent. I'm giving them to Jeremy to take to the kids in the park tomorrow). And I didn't even wear red today! I totally forgot today was the valentines party. Yesterday was pink and purple day and luckily I wore kind of a dark maroonish color that kind of looked purple, but I had no idea. I was so out of it. haha.
Speaking of early valentines, the other night I made Jeremy an early valentine dinner. I made homeamde croutons and a delicious green salad with fresh tomatoes, avocado, and cheese. Then we had homemade olive dip and pepper jack cheese on bread, and I made this to share for desert:
Anyway, Jeremy is going to be gone overnight tomorrow, so he's meeting me with Shea for lunch after I get off work tomorrow. I'm not used to being home alone at night (it's only happened one other time since we've been married), so I'm sure I won't be getting much sleep, but I'll try. I need to go get some packing done now, since I haven't gotten any done today. Thanks for listening to my ramblings! So nice to see other people than me posting on here, haha. :)
I am so happy for you and Jeremy! :) Getting to move, Jeremy finding an awesome way to minister.
ReplyDeleteI love how your get so many cute presents from your 3's class, I love it. :)
Oh and I am so excited to see how you decorate!
ReplyDeleteI feel like organizing my fabric now too! I'm so glad this year has been encouraging for you guys. and that's so exciting about a new ministry opportunity for Jeremy!
ReplyDeleteSorry it took me so long to comment, I read your post when you first wrote it and your guys' ministry made me so excited I told Joe about it!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you are taking this opportunity to organize your stuff instead of just haphazardly packing. Who knows when we'll move, but I'm slowly making that my goal. I'd rather do it now and enjoy the new home later without a million projects (though I'll always have projects, I'm sure!)
