When we went to the Home Show a couple months ago, we signed up for a lot of drawings, so we've been getting a lot of calls to "verify our information". Here's one that just happened.
Him: "Hi, I'm calling from [construction company] and we just need to verify your information for the drawing on April 1."
[We verify information]
Him: "We're also offering you a free assessment on your home. Is it wood or brick?"
Me: "Sorry, we're not interested."
Him: "But it's a free assessment!"
Me: "We're moving."
Him: "Why would you say that, ma'am?"
Me: "Because we made an offer on a house and it got accepted."
Him: "Oh. Hope you're the lucky winner, bye."
I wanted so badly to post it on Facebook but we're not announcing the move to everyone yet. So you get to hear aobut it instead.
Haha love it! I have been getting calls from those people too...but I dont answer the phone. Some have called me over 20 times. Ridiculous! Oh and last night at work somebody called and had this thick accent and said something about a telephone. All the sudden I realized he was trying to sell me something (this is on the work phone at 9:30 at night mind you when I have residents sleeping), I was like "this is a nursing home what do you want?" He said I am calling to help you reduce your monthly phone bill, I said no thanks and hung up. Really, 9:30 on a friday night do you think anybody who cares about how much the telephone bill is is going to be there?! Um no, they work monday to friday son and definitely not that late at night. Click, bye, I have more important things to do.
